A Celebration of Who We Are
Several of our teams have recently celebrated an end to their journey of Who We Are and their exploration of the importance of identity. In first grade, hats were used to represent the different identities, or “hats,” we wear as learners. Students investigated many of the learner profile attributes that we are growing as an IB learning community. We are growing these attributes within our WE learning community and with our BIGGER global community. Students recorded themselves saying and showing the below.
I am a reader. I can notice rhyming words and I can read other words.
I know how to do a project step by step.
I wear so many different hats—honest, Paw Patrol lover, and learning how to ride a bike.
Part of “who we are” is what we are interested in.
I am a swimmer. I am a gamer. I am a writer. I am happy.
Una Celebración de “Quienes Somos”
Varios de nuestros equipos han celebrado recientemente el final de sus estudios de “Quienes Somos” y su análisis acerca de la importancia de la identidad. En primer grado, usamos sombreros para representar los diferentes roles que desarrollamos como lectores. Los estudiantes investigaron muchos de los atributos del perfil de la comunidad de aprendizaje que estamos desarrollando como comunidad de aprendizaje del IB. Nosotros estamos desarrollando estas características dentro de nuestra comunidad Willow Lake y a nivel global. Los estudiantes se grabaron diciendo y mostrando lo siguiente.
Soy un lector. Puedo identificar palabras que riman y puedo leer otras palabras.
Sé cómo hacer un proyecto paso a paso.
Asumimos varios roles diferentes- ser honesto, fanático de Paw Patrol y estoy aprendiendo andar en bicicleta.
