Rainbow over the exterior of Willow Lake Elementary

General Information

Willow Lake first opened its doors in 2019. Our brand-new building is located on Indy’s north side at 75th and Harcourt Road. We serve a richly diverse school community and have numerous supports and programs in place to help all 585 students in grades K-5 learn and grow.

Academic & Extracurricular Program Offerings

At Willow Lake, we have high expectations for all students to meet the academic goals set forth in our math and literacy programs. Students get weekly instruction in music, art, physical education, and technology. In addition, Willow Lake uniquely offers a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program. This program develops student bilingualism and biliteracy in English and Spanish. These students continue to learn standards-based content while they become fluent in two languages; linguistically and academically.

As a traditional public school, Washington Township has an open enrollment policy and proudly provides high-quality education for all students. Registration information can be found on our district website.
What are your standard school day hours?
Hours of academic operation for Washington Township elementary schools are Monday-Friday, 7:50 am-2:35 pm. For families with students of different educational levels, our middle school hours are 9:20 am-4:20 pm, and our high school hours are 8:30 am-3:30 pm.

Through a long-standing partnership with At Your School (AYS), before and after-school care is available at all eight elementary schools. Participants experience a balance of academic and social development opportunities each day. Along with AYS, various after-school clubs and activities are offered at different times throughout the school year. These include Chess Club, Craft Around the World Club, Math Bowl, and more!

What are Willow Lake’s school safety policies?
Keeping students safe is paramount at Willow Lake. Our building was built just four years ago. As such, we have the most up-to-date safety features including external doors, camera system, speakers, etc. Staff and visitors are required to carry an ID while in the building - these are needed to access different sections of the school. As a district, we also have a School Resource Officer (SRO) who circulates between the elementary schools.
