Mr. Tyler Thiems is a proud product of MSD Washington Township, having graduated from North Central High School in 2005. With 15 years in education, Tyler brings a wealth of experience to his role. He previously served as an Assistant Principal in Indianapolis Public Schools for two years before joining Washington Township as an administrator. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal , Tyler worked as a District Math Instructional Coach in MSDWT, supporting all three middle schools in the district. As a classroom teacher, he taught mathematics at Northview Middle School and Thomas Carr Howe Community High School.

Tyler holds an MBA in Educational Leadership from Indianapolis University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marian University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hanover College. Outside of work, Tyler is a proud father to three girls who attend Willow Lake Elementary. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
